Q. I've heard that aspirin is good for my heart, should I be taking it?
A. Aspirin can help some people to lower their risk of a heart attack or stroke. But aspirin may also cause unwanted side-effects or problems: for example bleeding in the stomach. For this reason its use is restricted to those who really need it.
You should not take aspirin regularly unless your GP has said that it is right for you. If you think you should be taking aspirin, seek your GP's advice.
