High blood pressure treatments: Taking tablets
Q. I'm not happy with my blood pressure medicines - what can I do?
A. If you think that your blood pressure tablets aren't working or are causing you problems, discuss your options with your GP. There is a wide range of medicines available that work in a number of different ways and your GP may be able to find another medication or combination of medicines that work better for you.
Once your blood pressure is controlled, you should then be able to keep using the same medicine or combination of medicines for a long period of time. Also, making positive changes to your lifestyle (and sticking with them) will make your medicines much more effective. For more please see Making lifestyle changes.
