Daily Life with high blood pressure: Work and money
Q. Will my insurance company need to know about my high blood pressure?
A. Yes, you will need to declare your high blood pressure to insurance companies.
The health declarations of many insurance companies go into extreme detail and require you to declare any medical conditions you have had, or medicines you have taken (or are taking) over many years. If you make a claim later on, any undeclared conditions or medicines can be used to deny your claim. It is best to be safe, rather than sorry, and declare your high blood pressure.
You can find a list of insurance companies that specialise in offering insurance to people with high blood pressure and heart problems on the British Heart Foundation web site.
