Sir David Attenborough
Patron of the Blood Pressure Association
"I support the Blood Pressure Association as there is no doubt in my mind that keeping an eye on your blood pressure is one of the most important things you can do if you want to stay fit and healthy.
"It is a tragedy that so many people suffer from strokes and heart attacks simply because they have no idea they have high blood pressure.
"I would urge every adult - regardless of their age - to make knowing their blood pressure a priority. Once you know what it is you can do something about it - plenty of fruit and vegetables, regular exercise and less salt in your diet will set you on the right path to lower blood pressure. "
Sir Trevor MacDonald
"I fully support the Blood Pressure Association's campaign for African-Caribbean people to be more aware of the issue of high blood pressure. Better detection and management of high blood pressure is vital in the black community and people need to be more aware of its health implications. Everyone can take the first step to reduce their risk of stroke and heart disease by getting their blood pressure tested."
