Mark Edwards runs the London marathon for the Blood Pressure Association

Win a signed framed England Shirt

Marathon man Mark Edwards is enticing people to sponsor him for the London Marathon on Sunday by offering sponsors the chance to win a signed framed England shirt- signed by the 2011 England football squad.

Anyone who sponsors Mark £10 can leave their estimate of his finish time, together with their email address on his Just Giving and the entrant nearest his actual finish time will win the signed shirt.

Mark knows how important it is for people to control their blood pressure to healthy levels. "I wanted to run for the Blood Pressure Association as I have a family history of hypertension, so I've long been aware of the perils of being unaware of one's blood pressure numbers. At 49 I was diagnosed as being mildly hypertensive, so decided to try and reduce it by exercise.

"It's been a huge commitment to get to the start line, the amount of training that goes into a marathon is phenomenal and fitting it around family and friends has been hard, but am sure it will be worth it when I cross the finish line. I've even given up riding my beloved Vespa until after the big day!

"I've surprised myself in enjoying the training and challenging myself to run further, faster and more frequently whilst reducing my blood pressure."
